Enterprise Ventures has appointed a new Investment Manager to its loans team following an increase in business activity in the North of England. 

Chris Carter has over 11 years' experience in the financial industry, having formerly worked for HSBC, NatWest and RBS Corporate Banking.  Chris will now work with the SME Loans team at Enterprise Ventures, where he will primarily be investing in established SMEs whilst working across Enterprise Ventures' offices in Manchester, Liverpool and Preston.

Healthcare and medical solutions company Iqarus has appointed Jeff Soal as Chief Operating Officer. 

Soal is a co-founder of Iqarus and was previously its Chief Strategic Development Officer. In the last nine months he has led the acquisition and integration of C-Chec, a world-leading occupational hygiene and environmental sciences consultancy, Exmed, leaders in remote medical support, equipment and clinical education and RS Occupational Health.

International law firm Pinsent Masons has announced that employment law specialist Katie Williams is set to become the first female in the firm's history to lead its Aberdeen office.

Williams, who joined the firm in 2014, will succeed Roger Connon who will step down from the role in April.

Scottish law firm Blackadders has continued its expansion in the west of Scotland by recruiting an experienced commercial property adviser to its Glasgow base.

John McKie, who will join Blackadders as a partner on December 5th, is the latest addition to the firm’s presence in Scotland’s largest city.

Exterion Media, Europe’s largest privately held Out-of-Home advertising business, today announces the appointment of Gillian Godsell as Country Director for Scotland. Her appointment signals Exterion Media’s ongoing investment in its teams across the UK and plans for growth in Scotland.

Thorntons Investments, a Scottish financial services company specialising in investment management and wealth planning, has made three key appointments as part of its ambitious growth strategy for 2017.

Professional services firm KPMG has appointed Paul Jackson as an indirect tax director within its Midlands practice.

Based in Nottingham, Paul joins the firm from PwC, where his role as an indirect tax director saw him lead the delivery of VAT advisory services to a wide range of corporate clients across the East and West Midlands. Paul has over 20 years’ experience of advising clients on indirect tax matters, including manufacturers, housebuilders, retailers and even a specialist restorer of classic cars.    BQ Strip Line

Construction services company J Tomlinson has appointed Tony O’Toole as managing director of its M&E operation.

Direct Corporate Clothing (DCC) has appointed Helen Woodall as Head of Purchasing.

Leeds based PR, Social, Sponsorship and Events agency, Hatch Communications, has catered for its expanding client base with the appointment of three new recruits.

The expansion of the agency comes shortly after the independent business relocated to a newly refurbished office space in the Leeds Dock area of city earlier this year.

Law firm Andrew Jackson has today announced the opening of a new office in Scarborough, strengthening its offering throughout the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region, nationally and overseas. This follows the ongoing success of the firm’s York office, opened in December 2013, and further strengthens the firm’s presence in North Yorkshire.
