Business Boom announced for Northumberland

Business support service, Business Northumberland, is hosting a two-day interactive conference for Northumberland-based businesses to register for the programme and receive support to help grow their business.

The event, The Business Boom, will be held at Linden Hall in Northumberland, on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th September and will be presented by the Business Northumberland team, a group of experienced trainers and business advisers who are all experts in their field.

During the event, the trainers will support small to medium sized businesses through workshops to create growth plans that can be put into practise to grow and achieve the business’s ambitions.

Business Northumberland's expert trainers will help attendees determine their aims, objectives and activities in business, and plan how to achieve them.

The conference will also work on business growth, examining different ways to market your ideas effectively, both online and offline, as well as assessing available finance and funding opportunities. During the event, there will be an opportunity for businesses to network with each other.

The event is set to attract over 100 businesses, making it the biggest business support event available in Northumberland. All places are fully funded by Arch and England European Regional Development Fund 2014 – 2020, making it free to attend for businesses.

The Business Northumberland programme can offer advice and support to new and established business, including those who are facing challenges. The service aims to help 360 businesses across the county to create 131 new jobs over the next three years. The £1.3m programme is delivered by a team of three specialist Business Growth Advisers within Arch.

This service adds to an existing package of support that Arch provides to Northumberland businesses, including advice on property solutions for businesses in need of commercial space, funding and support, supply chain connections, training and recruitment and business development.

Councillor Richard Wearmouth, Chairman of Arch, said: "Business Boom is a brilliant one of a kind opportunity for small and medium sized local businesses to gain the support needed to grow from experienced expert trainers. This two-day event will provide the tools needed for businesses in Northumberland to succeed and have a strong future. I would encourage any eligible business to register for what I'm sure will be a very popular and successful event."

The £1.3m funding secured for the programme includes Arch’s own funds and match funding of £698,599 received from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
