A Sutton Coldfield research facility is planning the next stage of its business growth following a £180,000 refurbishment programme.
Midlands On View is part of the Adkins Research Group and was set up in 2000 by entrepreneur Jack Adkins to provide state-of-the-art facilities for companies across the UK and abroad to carry out market research interviews and focus groups.
With an enviable reputation primarily in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, the family-owned business worked with leading refit specialists ThreeHundredandSixtyDegrees to carry out the six-week refurbishment programme.
The project included creating new office space to enable staff to relocate from nearby premises into the facility
It also focused on refitting and updating the viewing studios complete with two-way mirrors so that clients can watch the in-depth one to one interviews and focus group market research taking place.
Midlands On View have also updated the recording and camera equipment that is required under the strict Market Research Society regulations and invested in high-quality soft furnishings and catering facilities for use by the market research teams and participants.
Jack explained: “The refurbishment project has been a significant investment for the company – not least that we were not able to operate as a research facility during the work due to the confidentiality and noise issues.
“The design and operational teams at ThreeHundredandSityDegrees did a fantastic job and we are delighted with the results which were completed on time and within budget.
“It has brought all of our 25 staff under one roof and our updated studios not only look fantastic but provide the high-quality viewing and recording facilities that put us back at the top of the industry here in the Midlands and on a par with some of the best-known London-based facilities.
“This investment will enable us to better serve our long-established client base in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries who require such top-quality facilities for their market research.
“It will also enable us to grow the business – expanding our client portfolio and, in turn, recruiting further staff here in Sutton Coldfield.”
Helen England is business development manager at Derby-based ThreeHundredandSixtyDegrees which works across the UK on a wide range of corporate fit-out programmes.
She said: “This project is the perfect example of how innovative design, translated into high quality fit out can breathe new life into a workspace and support clients with their business growth ambitions.
“We are extremely proud of the work that our team here and local suppliers have achieved and are confident that this design and fit-out will stand the test of time and serve Midlands On View for many, many years to come.”
