Word360 has announced an exclusive partnership with Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust (BCHC), making it the largest language provider to the NHS in the region.
The language services provider began servicing the contract at the start of September and offers essential translation and interpreting services to the Trust covering over 150 languages and dialects.
The new partnership allows BCHC patients to receive consistent care in a language they understand in over 400 locations including the new Birmingham Dental Hospital.
This is the latest in a string of new clients for the Edgbaston-based business.
Commercial director of Word360, Kavita Parmar, said “We are delighted to be awarded this contract.
“I believe having a grasp of our community languages and being able to offer new innovative solutions that drive efficiencies for the NHS have been essential in winning this contract.
“Understandably the Trust is looking to make savings but the skill lies in offering this without losing service quality.
“We pride ourselves
With over 1500 linguists in the region alone, Word360 is able to cover any language spoken within Birmingham.
They have also introduced specialist services such as British Sign Language and Braille.
Ashley Murtagh from BCHC said: “After a long process, designed to find a partner that can provide a comprehensive list of services in a wide range of languages the Trust chose Word360 as our new partner.
“The contract was signed with the mutual understanding that the two parties are going to deliver to the best of their abilities so all patients can have access to a superb healthcare system.”
The announcement earlier this year that Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust will be partnering with two other Trusts – Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Trust and Black Country Partnership Trust is aimed at improving NHS services in the area and will make it one of the largest in the region.
Birmingham-based Word360 is a language services provider, run by managing director Tiku Chauhan and commercial director Kavita Parmar.
It was founded in 1991 and employs over a 5,000 linguists globally covering over 250 languages.
The firm won Business of the Year 2016 at the Asian Business Chambers of Commerce awards whilst Kavita Parmar won ‘Business Woman of the Year’.
