Social Republic sets sights on growth after investment

Manchester-based social media agency Social Republic has committed to hiring up to 25 new employees during 2018 to support its growth.

The agency – founded in 2015 by CEO Rob Illidge – will focus on finding suitable candidates and recruiting for a number of key roles over the coming months, including account managers, operations personnel and a number of graduate positions for people starting careers in social media.

As part of its growth strategy, Social Republic -formerly known as Elrelo - aims to double its turnover this year by expanding its portfolio of 50 clients, which currently includes tech company Pioneer, online retailer eBay and charity Melanoma UK.

CEO Rob Illidge said: “Over the last three years we’ve been honing our offering for clients, particularly in the ecommerce and charity sectors. There are a lot of agencies out there who provide social media services as an add-on to other things, but not many are dedicated solely to social media. From strategy development and content creation through to community management and evaluation, we live and breathe social media – so we wanted our rebrand to reflect that.”

Rob added: “As we’re getting bigger and expanding our client base with companies in the UK, Australia and USA, it’s time to get the right team on board to support me with this period of growth. It’s a really exciting time for the business and with the right talent in place I’m confident we’ll be able to achieve our ambitious targets this year.”

Social Republic raised £25,000 from angel investors and has plans in place to raise further finance later in the year to support its growth plans.
