Local gallery draws in a new recruit
A Newcastle art gallery has bolstered its events team with a new appointment.
The Biscuit Factory, the UK’s largest independent commercial art, craft and design gallery located in the Ouseburn valley, has appointed Jade McKiernan as its new wedding and events coordinator.
In her new role, Jade will be taking the lead on weddings, liaising with couples and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings. She will also coordinate each couple’s wedding and manage their entire client journey – from the initial enquiry through to their menu tasting, final details appointments and then running their special day.
North East accountancy firm goes from strength to strength with key appointments
accounting and business advisory firm, Baldwins, a CogitalGroup company, has expanded its accounting and audit team to satisfy increasing demand for its services across the region.
To accelerate its growth, Laura Nolan, accounts senior, Ryan Dunn, accounts senior, Leanne Metcalfe, audit manager, and Lucy Morris, accounts senior, have joined the accounting and audit team at the Wynyard office, bringing further expertise within audit, cloud solutions and general accounting.
In addition, the business has announced the promotion of Tracey Turner from accounts senior to accounts manager and Michael Laverick from accounts manager to senior accounts manager. Tracey and Michael, who joined the firm as trainees, are key members of the compliance team responsible for helping to build the practice’s client base in the Teesside area. These promotions will help the firm deliver its ambitious growth plans which will encompass the wider North East region.
JDM Earth appoints first non-executive director after significant growth
Hartlepool-based electrical contracting and electric vehicle charging specialists, JDM Earth Limited, has appointed well-known business consultant Gary Lumby MBE as its first non-executive director.
The appointment has come at a time of substantial growth for JDM Earth, which has increased its turnover to over £250,000 in 2018 with plans to further grow that to £500,000 within this financial year.

Business development manager appointed as expansion takes place

Jonathan brings 15 years' experience to the Newcastle-headquartered practice that has been gained across a wide range of practice areas.

HSBC UK invests in North East business community with increased lending and new appointments
HSBC UK has appointed Gordon Forster as its new Area Director for Corporate Banking in the North East as part of a drive to support mid-market businesses in the region.
Forster is one of eight recent appointments across its North East Commercial Banking team, bringing its total headcount to 48.
HSBC UK has seen encouraging signs of growth in the North East’s business community. In the last 12 months, HSBC UK’s net lending to mid-market businesses is up 15% in the region.
