Anna Jones and Debbie Wosskow, co-founders of the AllBright Academy
AllBright Academy is delivering on its mission to upskill women at work and enhance their work life with monthly enrolment to their free 10-week digital academy.
Never before has there been a more pertinent time to empower women to enhance their work life and careers, and The AllBright Academy is on a mission to make a real difference for working women.
The company recently surveyed women who have taken part in their online learning programme. The results show that the programme is already starting to create a real step-change in women’s approach to work, with 45% now investing significantly more time in upskilling themselves, 37% being far more vocal about their ambitions at work, and almost 20% spending far more time building up their personal networks.
This January, The AllBright Academy will launch monthly enrolment across the UK. The academy is a free digital 10-week professional development programme designed to help women run successful businesses, smash corporate glass ceilings and build ‘work sisterhoods’.
Co-founded by UK entrepreneur Debbie Wosskow and former CEO of Hearst UK, Anna Jones, the AllBright Academy is a community that celebrates female talent and encourages women to thrive in their careers through interactive webinars, in-person courses and one-on-one coaching.
The programme to date has been delivered by some of the UK’s most inspirational female entrepreneurs, including Cath Kidston, Olympic Gold Medalist Christa Cullen, TV Presenter Kate Thornton, Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Farah Storr, and Founder of Pip & Nut Pippa Murray, to name a few.
The academy offers two courses to choose from. Doing it For Yourself is a course aimed at aspiring or early stage female founders who want to achieve that next stage of growth, coaching in basic accountancy, customer and product development, marketing and hiring a team.
The Smashing the Glass Ceiling course supports women in business to develop professionally, whatever industry they’re in. With a focus on developing skills that contribute towards building confidence in the meeting room, finding your communication style and negotiating effectively.
Both courses consider common topics that are needed for female leaders to run a successful business – from building your network and establishing what motivates you, to setting out your career goals and managing your work-life balance. Each cohort is supported by coordinated ‘work sisterhood’ meet-ups, which are considered a key part of the academy programme.
Debbie Wosskow commented: “It still remains that 1 in 10 UK women want to start their own business but they don’t – it is essential that more women are encouraged to elevate themselves to senior positions, and at the AllBright Academy we aim to do just that, by playing a positive role in reducing the gender imbalance in leadership roles.”
Anna Jones added: “Being part of a ‘work sisterhood’ - a supportive network that collaborates and shares advice – is at the heart of what the AllBright Academy is aimed towards and we look forward to watching our family of women thrive in their working lives and develop their career journeys.”
Named after the former USA Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, who famously said ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women’, The AllBright Academy is part of AllBright, an organisation set up by serial entrepreneur Debbie Wosskow and former CEO of Hearst UK, Anna Jones, to help women build the skills, confidence and connections they need to super-charge their careers.
The pair opened the UK’s first women-only members’ club for working women in London - The AllBright - on Rathbone Place on International Women’s Day 2018, and due to high demand, is opening two further locations - a second bigger London club on Maddox Street, Mayfair in spring 2019, and a third international location in Los Angeles in summer 2019.
January 2019 enrolment closes on 25 January at 5pm with the cohort beginning on Monday 4 February.
