Katie Elliott, Business Development Manager, and Graham Kennedy MBE, Founder, Inner Space Stations outside the brand new Self-Storage facility on Layerthorpe, York.
York-based Inner Space Stations has recently launched a state-of-the-art self-storage facility in the North Yorkshire village of Layerthorpe.
The new venture has created an additional five jobs in the area and the new facility offers convenient and secure storage with 24-hour access.
Inner Space Stations Self-Storage opened in August this year with over £1.3 million investment in the facility by founder Graham Kennedy.
It offers a flexible and easy way to store personal and business belongings.
The building, which used to be the site of National Windscreens, has three floors with over 200 internal storage units ranging from 10 to 200 square feet providing local, flexible and affordable storage.

The Inner Space Stations business was started by Mr Kennedy, 30 years ago, with a garage on Hull Road.
Over the years the business has grown and developed a unique brand based around his fascination with space and sci-fi.
Daleks and Stormtroopers guard the entrance and the space theme extends to the storage units, with each unit size named after a different planet in the solar system.
The facility even has a bright pink passenger lift suitable to hold large items.
Mr Graham Kennedy,
“Making self-storage accessible 24 hours a day gives people the flexibility to access it at any time to suit them, especially as we’re in a great location just 5 minutes’ walk from York city centre.
“The facility has already proven popular with students and local market traders over the holidays.
“We strongly believe internet sellers would benefit from the flexibility we offer, as well as local businesses, house movers and anyone that simply has too much stuff and nowhere to put it!”
“This is unusual in self-storage; however we recognise how important it is that customers feel safe and comfortable when they access their storage units. We want people to feel as though they are walking down a hotel corridor to their personal room.”
Inner Space Stations includes the garage on Hull Road, car wash centres, car parking, property investments, unmanned container storage sites and the new Self-Storage facility.
