Dave Axam, new chairman of the Enterprise M3 LEP, tells BQ about what he wants to achieve, the potential challenges facing the region, and how he plans to tackle the Grand Challenges of the future.
The new appointment comes following an extensive open-recruitment process in which Dave, who has been a board member at EM3 for the last four years, was chosen as the best candidate.
He takes charge at an exciting time for the LEP as it looks to align its message with the Industrial Strategy published by Government in November 2017.
Dave takes the reigns from outgoing Chair, Mike Short, who was unable to continue his role in the LEP following his appointment as Chief Scientific Officer at the Department for International Trade (DIT).
In this video, Dave tells BQ about what he wants to achieve in his new role, the potential challenges facing the country going forward, and how he plans to tackle the four Grand Challenges for the future of the UK economy.
