Director of the Enterprise M3, Kathy Slack, tells BQ about how the LEP is going stronger than ever, pushing forward growth across the region, and delivering on its key objectives.
The purpose of a LEP is to bring together the private, public, and third sector to drive prosperity and growth across its respective region.
Enterprise M3 is the Local Enterprise Partnership for the M3 corridor, which stretches across Hampshire and Surrey, following the M3 motorway from London to Dorset.
The last year has been a very successful one for Enterprise M3, seeing it rank as exceptional for its governance and alignment with government, and as good for the delivery of its services.
Kathy Slack, director of EM3, said: “We’ve had a stunning year. We’ve been going for six years now and in those early days there was a lot of development but now we are starting to see things happen on the ground.
“The six STEM centres we’ve got opened, delivering over 350 apprentices per year, the enterprise zone which I’m particularly pleased about because we’ve ramped up activity there.”
“I’m particularly pleased with the work of the growth hub over the last year, which is going to be really important as we face through the economic challenges because we need to be able to provide positive help to businesses.”
