A typical Llanmoor development
Llantrisant-based housebuilder Llanmoor Homes has announced the submission of an Outline Planning Application for a residential community in the Llangyfelach district of Swansea.
The new development, which will be known as Pentref
The overall site covers a total area of 115 hectares and will consist of approximately 1,950 new dwellings, including affordable homes, a district centre comprising of shops and restaurants.
The new residential community will also offer a new primary school, a network of interlinked green spaces, equipped play areas, sports pitches and changing room facilities.
This site has been allocated for residential development in the emerging Swansea City Council Local Development Plan, which was recently approved by the Council Cabinet, and is now subject to Welsh Government scrutiny at the LDP Inquiry to be held in 2018.
Simon Grey, managing director of Llanmoor Homes, said: “We are thrilled to announce that we are, for the very first time, venturing into the Swansea area.
“Subject to planning approval, this scheme will be our largest development to date and will considerably help the Welsh Government in achieving its housing targets.
“We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Swansea council and hope to play a pivotal role in the regeneration of the city.”
Llanmoor Homes has been constructing new homes in South Wales for over 50 years and is one of just a handful of private, family-run housebuilder in South Wales.
Established by Brian Grey in 1966, Llanmoor Homes is now directed from its headquarters in Talbot Green by his three sons Simon, Tim and Matthew Grey.
They are currently constructing new homes at 6 developments stretching from Newport to Bridgend. Further new developments are in the pipeline for 2017 and beyond.
The company has constructed in excess of 4,500 homes across South Wales and continues to acquire further land for future new housing developments.
