Property developer Loftco has unveiled the final phase of apartments in its forthcoming mixed-use Cardiff development ahead of its completion in November.
At present two-thirds of the available apartments have been sold off-plan to early bird buyers and the remaining apartments are anticipated to be sold within the month.
The first buyers are expected to move in before Christmas.
W2, located in the Canton area of Cardiff, situated directly opposite St David’s Hospital, features 44 one and two-bedroom apartments.
The £5.5 million redevelopment of the well-known red brick building on Wellington Street, incorporates a full refurbishment of the original commercial units into retail spaces and luxury office units, with the addition of a two-storey vertical extension, which houses the new apartments.
The affordably priced apartments, which start at £125,000 and are eligible for the Help to Buy Wales scheme, have proved to be popular with first-time buyers who appreciate the developments city centre location and high-end finish.
All accommodation at W2 has been designed to be future-proofed, with smart app technology installed as standard to control the electric heating and lighting systems in select zones.
Each apartment has its own kitchen, featuring granite worktops; bathroom facilities, including underfloor heating; built-in wardrobes; laminate flooring and the development offers 24hr CCTV for additional security.
The second and third-storey apartments boast panoramic views of the Principality Stadium, Penarth and Caerphilly Mountain.
Simon Baston, managing director at Loftco, the developers behind the scheme, said: “Loftco has a proven track record in regenerating historic buildings and landmarks to create stylish, cutting-edge mixed-use developments.
“Our recent projects include The Pumphouse in Barry, Tram Shed in Grangetown and the Jennings Building in Porthcawl.
“W2 is the latest development in our portfolio and as we reach the final stages we’re looking forward to handing it over to its new tenants and owners.”
Loftco has built over 400 houses and apartments in Wales over the course of the last decade and has won a significant number of awards for its sensitive and innovative restoration of many complex buildings.
Joint agents Savills Cardiff and Peter Alan are currently taking reservations.
