Yorkshire-based homebuilder Avant Homes has been granted planning permission to build a development of 78 new homes in Knaresborough.
The developer acquired a 7.2-acre site for the £22.3m development which located off Bar Lane
It will be Avant Homes’ first development in the town.
Properties will be a mixture of two-bedroom mews, three-bedroom semi-detached and four and five-bedroom detached homes, all complete to the housebuilder’s new interior specification.
Groundworks on the site are set to commence in February 2018and construction will begin in May 2018.
The first homes are scheduled to be ready for occupation in December 2018.
Avant Homes Yorkshire managing director, Rob Slocombe, said: “The acquisition of land in Knaresborough is a key part of our strategic growth plans, as we expand our operations into North Yorkshire.
“We are very much looking forward to bringing our first development to Knaresborough and are expecting to see strong demand for our range of innovatively-designed new homes.”
As well as providing much-needed family homes, Avant Homes will deliver 31 affordable homes and invest more than £300,000 in education, infrastructure and travel initiatives for the town, including the development of public open spaces and a habitat area for local great crested newts.
Based in Wakefield, Avant Homes Yorkshire is an operating company of the Avant Homes group, a private developer of residential property in the UK.
It currently operates 16 sites throughout Yorkshire, from Godwin Vale in Stamford Bridge to Sheafdale Grange in Sheffield.
For the financial year to 30 April 2017, Avant Homes group posted both record revenue and operating profit.
Revenues increased 45% year-on-year to £369m, whilst operating profits rose 107% to £45m.
These were delivered having achieved 1,636 total completions, up 35% compared with the prior year.
This performance led to Avant Homes being named as the 46th fastest-growing private mid-market company in The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league tables.
