It has been a busy year for PR platform JournoLink, Julie Cocquerelle from the business explains why 2017 has been so hectic and why she is looking forward to 2018.
What does your business do?
JournoLink is an online PR platform tailored to entrepreneurs, small businesses and start-ups. It enables businesses to create, plan and manage their PR and send their news to on and offline influencers.
Through the platform, businesses can send their press releases to, and receive media requests directly to their inbox from, a targeted database of journalists, broadcasters and bloggers, access a calendar with key news dates to plan their PR and create a media room to plug-in on their website.
How has 2017 been for you?
2017 has been a rich and hectic year for JournoLink. We have been working on a number of different projects including setting up new major partnerships, looking for new investors and developing the platform itself, alongside usual projects to maintain and grow the business.
It was a very exciting year for us! The company even hired two new team members at the beggining of the year and in July we moved into a new office with more space to welcome our growing team.
What was your greatest success?
As 2017 was a very challenging year, between the pursuit of new investment and the growth of the business, our greatest achievement was to succeed in reinforcing the confidence of users and winning the confidence of new investors.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the team we've managed to improve the platform and our services, to get 1300 new businesses and around a 1000 new journalists on the platform and to get closer than ever to receiving new funding. We're hoping to receive it in early 2018.
And your greatest challenge?
Our greatest challenge was to go after new funding alongside running the business and continuing to improve our services and our strategies to grow the buisness.
Any business going after new investment will probably agree that it takes a lot of time and a lot of energy. We probably didn't imagine the amount of work it would require, but we certainly realised by the time we reached the halfway stage of the process.
The difficulty for us was to handle the business, deliver the best service to our customers and of course gaining new customers while putting a great deal of effort to pursue our objective of getting new investment.
It has been really challenging but we are proud of what we've finally achieved and are really looking forward to what 2018 will bring.
What do you think 2018 will hold for you?
2018 promises to be as hectic as 2017 as we are planning on receiving new investment at the beggining of the year. This will give JournoLink a great forward thrust for the year as it will enable us to develop the product, get new people in and invest in marketing to promote the business on a larger scale.
One of our big projects is to use new technologies to improve the platform and deliver a better service to our clients, but also to close some important partnerships and contracts.
How will you spend Christmas and the New Year?
