L-R Daniel Rae and Mike Scott, Hydrogen Directors
Glasgow social media agency Hydrogen has celebrated its second anniversary with the news that it has tripled its turnover year-on-year, as well as the size of its team.
Having started as a three-person company sat around a kitchen table in Hamilton, the past 12 months has seen Hydrogen being appointed by clients such as sandwich brand Subway, move office, expand its team to nine members, and triple its turnover.
Mike Scott, managing director and co-owner, said: “With madness of year 1 behind us, I had initially aimed for slow, steady growth in year 2 to allow us to build all of the correct processes and procedures into the underlying business. We weren’t pushing hard on the new business front to allow us time to get things ‘right’.
“What we weren’t planning on was the influx in requests that we were about to receive. It’s given us massive confidence in the model we operate and the offering we provide. In the past 12 months we’ve worked with 14 brand new clients, including Subway, Schoeller Bleckmann Oilfield Equipment, Finnieston Distillery Company, Crimestoppers, Scuderia Car Parts, RSNO, College Development Network and Worldwide Cancer Research.”
As well as its new clients, Hydrogen’s roster includes Hachette Partworks (incorporating magazines for Marvel, Doctor Who and crafts) as well as energy company SSE.
As a specialist agency, Hydrogen covers a whole range of social media services, including strategy, content creation, video and animation design, community management and social media insights and analytics.
Moving into its third year of operations, Mike plans to continue to grow the business, including looking to move to a larger office, increase staff numbers and expanding the client roster.
