Fresh Perspectives launches Thursday 20th October with Andrew Marcinko PhD, Work and Organisational Psychology Researcher, sharing his expertise and tested tool-kits for managing diverse teams and promoting cohesion in times of uncertainty or stress.
In an age where organisations are more diverse, Andrew will present ideas and research on how leaders can adapt and refocus in a changing environment. He will share research and apply them to the challenges of the modern, and diverse workforce.
Andrew is part of Aston Behavioural Insights Group, who advise leaders on implementing a strategic approach to diversity management, which has been proven to improve productivity.
"Research has shown that diversity experiences can ‘warm up’ the creative mind, directly leading to enhanced problem solving and a host of other cognitive improvements. Therefore diversity is not just desirable because it represents a particular set of moral or ethical values; it is desirable because it creates those conditions that challenge us all to become all we can be."
Andrew, who worked on teamwork research for NASA’s manned Mars mission and redesigning training programs for US Navy Submarine crews, has first-had experience of how diverse teams managed effectively foster the capacity of individuals to view themselves in new ways, and this is key to self-determination, and ultimately, organisation and professional success.
Fresh Perspectives compliments Aston Business School’s wide range of activities and training services that share research on key business issues to support business and professional growth.
