More than 1,500 students are expected to use the Business School every year with a range of degree level courses, professional development courses and business training on offer.
The brand-new building includes an atrium with a relaxed, social seating, coffee tables and statement lounge sofas and benches.
Highback wing armchairs provide an element of privacy for conversations and time-out in social spaces while sleek upholstered dining chairs and tables reflect the vogue to bring home interiors into the workspace.
Penketh Group also supplied flexible, reconfigurable furniture and portable tablet whiteboards for the building’s 11 lecture rooms and 5 bookable meeting rooms.
“We wanted to give our interiors a hotel look and feel and the furniture has really complimented the building.
“Creating interesting and flexible spaces that encourage interaction and active learning is important to us and the response to the new furniture from staff and students has been great.
“With its abundance of natural light, digital facilities and interactive spaces, we believe that this building represents the future of learning.”
Paul Mann, furniture project director of Penketh Group, said: “We have worked with Coleg Cambria for a number of years and were delighted to provide a furniture solution for their new Business School.
“We brought the architect’s vision for the spaces to life with a range of furniture emphasising the colours and textures inspired by the surroundings of the college.
“Our work included providing statement pieces and social seating for the impressive atrium to encourage staff and students to meet and relax.
“We also included reconfigurable learning furniture for their lecture and meeting rooms which, as well as being easy to store and move around, is flexible enough so a lecture style configuration can be transformed into an active break-out session space in minutes.”
