Furnished apartment search engine Nestpick has revealed the World’s top 110 cities for entrepreneurial millennials, based on factors such as start-up ecosystem and employment.
The United States dominates the top ten with San Francisco, famed for its Silicon Valley, ranked as the best city in the world for Young Entrepreneurs.
New York City ranked in second place, while Miami, Florida and Los Angeles, California ranked in fourth and fifth respectively.
Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; and Austin, Texas complete the United States’ top ten entries, ranking in sixth, ninth and tenth respectively.
Only three non-US cities made it into the top ten with the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur coming in third, while China’s capital of Beijing made it to seventh place.
London was ranked just behind Beijing in eight, the only European city in the top ten.
Ömer Kücükdere, managing director of Nestpick, said: “Millennials grew up in a shrinking world, where the internet opened doors their parents could never have dreamed of, and budget airlines made those avenues real possibilities.
“It’s now possible to live and work anywhere in the world, and these opportunities are shaping how our planet will look to future generations.
“We must learn to adapt to the needs of younger people in order to have a thriving economy, and we believe that this ranking offers valuable insights to those cities looking for regeneration from a younger demographic.”
