Independently owned dairy group and supplier of ingredients to the food industry, Meadow Foods, has announced its acquisition of Fayrefield Liquids.
The announcement is a step towards Meadow Foods fulfilling its strategic objective of growing the business through organic expansion and acquisition.
Meadow Foods has had a close trading relationship with Fayrefield over many years, and will now be meeting with the producers and customers involved, to introduce the business and welcome them to Meadow Foods.
Jim Bebb, director of milk procurement and logistics, comments: “The acquisition of Fayrefield Liquid’s producers was a logical step for Meadow Foods as we have integrated our milk collections for a number of years. We are delighted to welcome the valued producers to Meadow Foods and we plan to meet with them face to face to introduce ourselves in the coming weeks.”
Last week Meadow Foods announced it was increasing its milk price by +0.85ppl from September 1, taking its standard A litre milk price to 29.00ppl. It also announced the estimated B Price range for July is between 30ppl to 33ppl as the market currently shows signs of strengthening going into the Autumn.
Meadow Foods operates from BRC A and AA accredited sites in Chester, Peterborough and Holme-on-Spalding Moor where they manufacture dairy ingredients 7 days a week for some of the UK’s best known food manufacturers. It currently employs more than 275 people and handles in excess of 650m litres of milk each year from over 650 farmer suppliers nationwide.
