Coast and Glen, which supplies fresh Scottish seafood and game, is continuing its expansion with a new factory at Wyndhill Industrial Estate in Muir of Ord, on the outskirts of Inverness.
The new fish and game processing factory which spans 2,631 sq ft adds to Coast and Glen’s existing industrial premises in Walker Road in Inverness.
The new facility, which is expected to lead to a number of new jobs, was purchased with assistance from HSBC.
Lucy Gannon, head of Morisons’ food & drinks team said: “We’ve been working with Coast and Glen since the business first launched six years ago and we are delighted to assist them with their exciting growth. The team has been actively looking for new premises for a long time and finding the right site has proved difficult due to the requirements needed to facilitate a growing food business.”
Coast and Glen supplies to food service customers throughout the Highlands & Islands as well as to Michelin star restaurants throughout the UK. It also operates a sister company, Fishbox, which enables customers to have a regular box of mixed fresh fish delivered next day UK wide.
Founding managing director, Magnus Houston who was recently named Scotland’s Institute of Directors Emerging Director of the Year and Scotland’s Rising Star in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, has ambitions to substantially grow the business and is actively expanding its customer base within the retail sector.
Magnus said: “The new factory and office will not only allow Fishbox to expand its customer acquisition, but will free up space to let Coast & Glen continue its organic growth. We couldn’t have done it without the expertise from Morisons, who have supported and looked after our every legal need for six years now.”
With offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Morisons Solicitors is a law firm, whose specialist Food & Drinks Team advise clients including chef Nick Nairn, The Scottish Salmon Company, Lux Illuminating Brands, Whyte & Mackay and The Good Spirits Co.
