McIntosh of Strathmore has secured an exclusive deal with Asda to stock its new range of spicy Mexicana cheese macaroni pies across 54 Scottish stores, with an annual contract value of more than £60k.
The new macaroni pies have officially launched and are stocked exclusively with Asda for a limited period.
McIntosh, part of Strathmore Foods, a family run company established in 1973 has enjoyed increasing sales of their traditional Macaroni range, with sales and feedback suggesting Scots are always looking for innovative and modern twists on traditional favourites.
Based in Forfar, the company currently employs 120 staff, producing a wide range of traditional Scottish quality meals and pies, and currently sell over 30,000 macaroni pies a week.
McIntosh hope that this new mexicana cheese macaroni pie will spice up the pie category in stores and anticipate the new flavour will result in a total of over a quarter of a million packs of their macaroni pie range selling in Asda stores over the first year.
Neil MacRae, sales manager, said: “This is a very exciting opportunity to launch a new addition to our pie range in Asda stores across the country. These new pies are filled with the same Macaroni Cheese used in our Spicy Mexicana Macaroni ready meals which have proved incredibly popular with our loyal McIntosh consumers.
“It’s fantastic that Asda is supporting our brand and we’re really excited about introducing other flavours in due course.”
Heather Turnbull, Asda’s regional buying manager for Scotland, said: “The McIntosh Macaroni ranges are premium quality products which are popular with our customers so it’s great to be the first to offer the new Mexicana Cheese Macaroni Pies.
“Feedback from everyone who has tried them has been incredibly positive so we look forward to working with the business closely and hopefully growing our relationship in the future.”
