Yorkshire based White Cross Vets is reopening in Eccleshill, 16 years after it last operated a practice there.
The news comes as part of a £150,000 investment that will create one of Yorkshire’s most advanced veterinary surgeries.
White Cross Vets operates 16 other practices throughout the UK including West Yorkshire sites in Guiseley and Roundhay.
The company previously ran the Eccleshill practice on Harrogate Road between 1997 and 2001, before it was acquired by a national chain.
The new practice opened yesterday (4th September 2017) and will initially create six new jobs. It will be headed up by clinic director Andrew Miller who joins from the firm’s Roundhay practice.
The building has undergone a complete refurbishment in recent months and has been entirely designed around the pets it will be treating.
It features an array of caring pet-led initiatives including pheromone diffusers to create a relaxed ambience, calming pet music and ultra-soft bedding.
There is also a specialist cat ward which features cat kennels that are carefully positioned so that cats can’t see each other, to further minimise stress-levels.
White Cross Vets is owned and managed by the Harrison family who
The company is currently celebrating its 80th anniversary and now employs more than 200 employees after creating 50 new jobs in the last 12 months alone.
Tim Harrison, managing director of White Cross Vets, says: “Coming from a family of Bradfordians and as a locally based business, it’s fantastic to be reopening in Eccleshill.
“This practice will incorporate all the best technology and knowledge from our 16 other practices to create one of Yorkshire’s most advanced veterinary surgeries.
“The move is already generating plenty of interest and we’re really looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming back many of our previous clients, as well as caring for lots of new pets in the area.”
White Cross Vets will be opening two further practices over the coming months.
