Pharmacy automation company, Robotik Technology UK, has become the first tenant in the new flagship Techspace One development at Sci-Tech Daresbury.

Established in 2012, Robotik Technology UK uses robots to automate manual packaging processes at pharmacies across the UK.

Company growth prompted the Warrington-based company to choose the premises for its new headquarters. Robotik Technology’s staff will now occupy 950 sq. ft. of lab space and 1,200 sq. ft. of office space in Techspace One.

Together with its sister building Techspace Two, Techspace One provides 43,000 sq. ft. of specialised Grade A office and laboratory space at the Sci-Tech Daresbury Enterprise Zone.

Robotik Technology UK’s business goals for the next five years focus on growing their client base and making the most of the collaborative working opportunities available at Sci-Tech Daresbury.

Robotik Technology UK director, Andy Beesley said: “At Robotik Technology UK, we are dedicated to simplifying medication management through innovative technology solutions. Our robots have the ability to organise drugs for patients on multiple medications, increasing accuracy and reducing the manual labour for pharmacy staff.

“The Techspace One site at Sci-Tech Daresbury is certainly a perfect match for Robotik Technology UK and the much bigger footprint that Techspace One offers will accommodate our business as we expand while the new laboratory space allows us to present our equipment in an even better way.

“The site is fantastic, it will allow us to mix and mingle with potential customers and suppliers and allow more people to see what we do.”

Sci-Tech Daresbury is a private-public joint-venture partnership between developer Langtree, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and Halton Borough Council.

John Downes, group managing director of Langtree and board member of the Sci-Tech Daresbury joint venture company, said: “We’re very pleased to be welcoming Robotik Technology to the Sci-Tech Daresbury campus.

“Techspace One represents the very highest standard of laboratory and workspace for companies looking to grow and will be a great fit for Robotik Technology. The campus already provides a number of collaborative working opportunities for SMEs and we’re looking forward to seeing Robotik Technology take full advantage of what the site has to offer.”
