Online travel business My Swft launched in September this year. Tom Pain from the business reflects on the last twelve months and looks ahead to 2018.
What does your business do?
My Swft is your free travel concierge available on WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Our customers message us with key information regarding their desired holiday, including the basics such as dates, the number of people travelling and their budget, but also more subjective details such as their tastes, level of skiing ability, how close they'd like to be to the nightlife, the list goes on. We then send tailored suggestions to suit their exact wants and needs. Once a customer chooses an option, they receive a payment link and we remain available to offer advice and tips on how to prepare for and how to make the absolute most of their time away.
How has 2017 been for you?
2017 has been a massive year of change. In January, our co-founders were working for another small business and My Swft hadn't even been imagined. April saw My Swft officially registered as a business, and by September we had quit our jobs and launched My Swft Snow.
What was your greatest success?
Launching My Swft in September. A lot of evenings and weekends went into preparing for launch and it was an amazing feeling to go live. Our 100th customer also felt like a wonderful milestone.
And your greatest challenge?
Our greatest challenge probably lies ahead. My Swft City is set to launch in January and we've been putting some super exciting agreements in place.
What do you think 2018 will hold for you?
Excitement and a lot of hard work. 2018 opens with My Swft City before the launch of My Swft Sun in the Spring.
How will you spend Christmas and the New Year?
Hopefully chatting to customers! The response has been amazing so far and we hope for that to continue over the festive season. Besides that, we'll be spending time with our family before the whole My Swft team relocates to the alps in January. Why not work abroad while we're still small and we can!
