The clinic, which has location at Gosforth and Darrass Hall, will now be able to refer patients to Newcastle Sports Medicine who are the only practitioners in the region to offer diagnostic ultrasound as part of its medical consultations.
Newcastle Sports Medicine, based at the Nuffield Hospital, Jesmond, was launched by Newcastle United’s doctor, Dr Paul Catterson and will offer patients hi-tech treatments including shockwave therapy.
Nick Livadas, clinical manager at Physiotherapy Matters, added: “The fact that our patients can now access services provided by Newcastle Sports Medicine, such as diagnostic ultrasound and shockwave therapy, is a major development for Physiotherapy Matters.
“We pride ourselves on offering tailored, innovative musculoskeletal physiotherapy services, and Dr Catterson’s expertise enhances our capabilities even further, and allows us to provide additional support to the growing number of patients who are coming to us with sports injuries.”
Dr Paul Catterson added: “I have known the Physiotherapy Matters team for a number of years and have great trust in their professionalism and clinical experience. Physiotherapy Matters is a leader in its field and I’m delighted to be working with them in this new partnership.
“I’m looking forward to offering our collective expertise in sports injury diagnosis and treatment to patients across the North East.”
