The step by step Wedding Handbook aims to help brides and grooms organise everything from the engagement party, and stag and hen dos right up to the big day.
Local business woman Gemma Jay has now entered an application for the Wedding Handbook to Richard Branson’s VOOM 2016 ‘Pitch to Rich competition’, in a bid to secure a business support package worth up to £450,000.
Jay has plans to grow the business throughout the country, with bespoke, regionalised versions of the handbook to be produced, and a second edition due to be printed in 2017.
The start-up was launched with support from North East-based Gordon Brown Law Firm.
Jay enlisted the expertise of the Core team at GBLF, who then stepped in and rewrote Ms
Jay’s business terms and conditions in order to grown her roster of suppliers and customer base.
“They took me right back to basics in order to understand exactly what was needed and cut out all of the legal jargon, leaving me with robust and accurate terms and conditions and a package which is completely bespoke to me,” said Jay.
Gwen Jones, head of the Core team at GBLF, added: “It has been great getting to work so closely with Gemma and to support her with such an exciting and promising new business plan.
“We wish her every success with both the VOOM 2016 competition and her future plans for the business.”
