PFF opens £1m Washington Innovation Centre

The PFF Packaging Group has officially opened the doors of its new £1m Innovation Centre in Washington, representing a major investment in the North East economy.

Located on the Stephenson Industrial Estate in Washington, the Innovation Centre was officially opened last Thursday (30 June) by group managing director Andy Bairstow.

The centre represents a £1m+ investment by PFF, one of the UK’s leading independent plastic food packaging manufacturers.

“The Innovation Centre is turning what is traditionally a long and sometimes complex process completely on its head,” said Bairstow.

“As well as freeing up precious time for individuals who may have previously been involved in long creative processes, this fast response service will also help food manufacturers get their products into store much more quickly than ever before.

“It’s a major advance for PFF and our customers, the packaging industry in general and for business in the North East.”

The PFF Packaging Group, which was established in 1993, delivers innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to the UK’s major food manufacturers and retailers.

As well as the Innovation Centre and a 100,000 sq ft manufacturing site in Washington, the company also has a 100,000 sq ft manufacturing site in Keighley, West Yorkshire, and employs a total of 225 staff.
