Darlington-based Stone Technical Services (STS) has secured over half a million pounds’ worth of new contracts for the summer months across all four of its divisions.
The deals will see the restoration, maintenance and high level repair experts work on landmark projects such as St Paul’s Cathedral in London and Colchester’s Roman Town Walls.
One of the most eye catching deals includes the design of a specialist access scaffold to allow for the refurbishment of the famous Thornhill Paintings at St Paul’s Cathedral.
The dome access scaffold is being used by St Pauls’ architects to carry our repairs to the paintings which date back to the 1700s.
Stone said: “It’s proving to be a really productive summer for the team following a good first half of 2016 across all of our divisions.
“It’s great to see growth in all areas of our business and across the UK as well. Many organisations prepare now for the winter months so we’re working on a real mix of heritage and industrial projects which involve our whole team.”
STS is made up of four divisions –STS Lightning Protection, STS Restoration, STS Maintenance and Facilities Management and STS Conservation.
The company employs a team of 40 and is ahead of its growth plans for 2016 thanks to a successful first half of the year.
