Originally set up in 2009 as a lifestyle venture and natural skincare brand, Myroo Skincare re-launched in February this year as the UK's first totally “free-from” skincare brand.
The entire range is natural, vegan and organic, free from gluten, nut and dairy products, and are also available fragrance-free.
Rachael, founder and MD of Myroo, is herself a multiple allergy sufferer and so has unique insight into the challenges her customers face on a daily basis.
Rachael said: “I started Myroo around my young family because I was frustrated with the lack of transparency in the cosmetics market. With sensitive skin and a young daughter with eczema I didn’t feel there were any brands I could really trust.”
Rachael has transformed the business during her time on the Entrepreneurial Spark Programme, enjoying life as a chiclet in the Leeds Hatchery and recently going full time. “With so many green shoots in the business I felt it was time to take the jump and give myself full time to growing Myroo into a market leading skincare company."
The reformulated range has already won 3 awards; an Editor’s Choice Award from Beauty Shortlist, a leading voice in the organic skincare market and two high profile Free From Skincare Awards.
And Rachael is herself award-winning, having scooped ‘Entrepreneur of the Moment’ at last week's Entrepreneurial Spark Awards.
The award means Rachael gets a £10,000 cash investment for her business. She said: “I’m delighted with this latest win. The money will be used for marketing to raise the profile of Myroo. It is also an amazing acknowledgement from Entrepreneurial Spark and I’m so grateful to them for the important role they’ve played in my journey."
