Babcock collaborate in Caledonia Liquefied Natural Gas project

Babcock International Group is set to collaborate with ExxonMobil, Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), Calor and Orkney Islands Council in the “Caledonia LNG” project.

The partners recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to investigate opportunities to supply LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) for marine and land-based applications.

Drawing on recent successes where Babcock developed solutions for its clients in Asian markets, the company brings knowledge and skill to the project.

Babcock’s managing director for energy & marine technology, Ian Lindsay said: "With our proven successes in driving innovation in the LNG sector Babcock is delighted to be involved in the "Caledonia LNG" venture and look forward to using our expertise as a key partner in this project.

"Having the ability to reach back to the skills and capabilities across our entire organisation gives us a great opportunity to support the project and to maximise the possibilities for customers across the northern UK and the North Sea."
