With Turbulent Designs' flight simulation, you can learn to fly an aircraft from your home computer. We caught up with them to find out more ahead of Venturefest South.
Describe your business in no more than 100 words
We are one of the market leaders in 3D simulations in both the aviation and marine sectors, we can simulate ships' bridges for navigators and our airport simulations are used for pilot training in the commercial industries. We have developed our own platform that can bring together aviation and marine (surface and sea bed) simulations for multiple use training.
What prompted you to enter the Innovation Zone? Describe the innovation that you’ve entered with.

How would you describe that to a novice?
With our flight simulation, you can learn to fly an aircraft from your home computer.
What are the biggest challenges you face?
Like all small businesses which are growing, cash flow is a challenge as we've found banks do not help SMEs.
What are your biggest professional achievements to date?
Business excellence awards and the development of our own platform which has put us 5 years in front of our competition.
How do you feel about showcasing to potentially hundreds of people at Venturefest South?

What are you hoping to get out of attending Venturefest South?
New contacts, potential investors and 3D developers for the future.
Where do you see your company in five years’ time?
With a £2 million turnover and a world class name in simulation.
What advice would you give to aspiring innovators?
Seek advice with cash flow, study your marketplace and do not rely on banks but above all be passionate about your product.
