Collaboration leads to growth for Duncan’s and Pulsetta

Duncan’s of Deeside and Pulsetta Foods are expanding into new markets after collaborating to produce gluten-free sweet and savoury biscuits.

The two firms, both based in the north east of Scotland, export to over a dozen countries combined and work with multiple UK supermarkets and independent retailers.

The joint venture will pool the market relationships and product development expertise of these two partners.

Paul Duncan of Duncan’s of Deeside said: “This exciting partnership sees Duncan’s enter the growing gluten-free and free-from market overnight, and we are delighted to offer a Great Taste multi-award winning range of gluten-free products to our customers.”

Dr. Karsten Karcher of Pulsetta Foods added: “This venture is a perfect strategic fit for us as companies and teams, and fantastic news to all our consumers.”

Duncan’s of Deeside is one of Scotland’s premier biscuit brands, specialising in shortbread and oatcakes, with a heritage of over 30 years. The venture will be based at Duncan’s in Laurencekirk Aberdeenshire.

Pulsetta Foods is a young yet already multi-award winning brand in gluten-free, free-from and healthy eating foods, based in Aberdeen. The Pulsetta Oat Thins, winner ‘Best New Retail Product’ in the prestigious 25th annual GFF Innovation Awards in 2015, will become the first products of the venture.
