10 Yorkshire businesses have been hailed for flying the flag for the UK overseas after being awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade.
Business secretary Sajid Javid today (21 April) named the winners of the awards, which hail from all corners of the region and a range of sectors.
In order to be involved, businesses had to show they have benefited from substantial international growth in overseas earnings and commercial success within their sector.
One of which, was Adare International, part of Huddersfield-based Adare Group, which since 2009, has evolved from a UK print management company into a full service, global marketing communications outsourcing business.
Robert Whiteside, chief executive, said: “The Queen’s Award is one of the most prestigious accolades that a business can be awarded and we are delighted that Adare International has been recognised for its successful expansion into international markets.”
Adare International has doubled in size over the past four years, with most of this growth generated by overseas sales.
This area has grown rapidly since 2010 (an increase of 990%) and now constitutes around 50% of the company’s turnover.
