Darlington firm hit £33.7m worth of exports

Darlington-based steelwork company, Cleveland Bridge UK, has more than doubled its export sales achieving £33.7m.

After being taken over by a new management team, the firm has delivered a 112% increase in turnover generated from new international sales in the financial year ending December 2015, in comparison to the previous year.

Currently employing almost 300 people, including 27 apprentices, the firm are looking to expand its international sales team.

Chris Droogan, Managing Director of Cleveland Bridge UK Ltd, said: “We continue to experience increased demand from international markets for our skills, knowledge and British-engineered products, which are key factors in our return to profit.

“The new leadership team is planning to build upon its success; we’re currently in the process of expanding our international sales team to continue to grow our reach and service provision internationally.’
