The Halal Cosmetics Company’s entire skincare range, from anti-aging creams to organic body wash, is now available across the Gulf region, with the high demand meaning the majority of the first delivery is already reserved for retailers across the United Arab Emirates.
After exhibiting at Beauty World Dubai in 2015 the business agreed to work in partnership with NovoCeutix, a UAE trading company which focuses on introducing niche concepts and products to emerging markets.
The global market for halal cosmetics continues to grow, and is currently the fastest growing sector within the beauty industry. Halal refers to anything which is lawful in Islamic law and prohibits the consumption of pork, blood and alcohol.
These cosmetic products are made in strict accordance with Islamic law, using plant extracts and minerals instead of alcohol and animal products; a need which is particularly prevalent in the Middle East,
Salma Chaudhry, the director of The Halal Cosmetics Company, commented: “We are very excited to have NovoCeutix as our representing partner in the UAE. It is a brand that understands not only the importance of halal to Muslims, which is our main growth driver, but also that the innovative formula and ingredients used in this premium skincare product are widely appealing to a cross section of the population, both Muslim and non-Muslim.”
Sandra Thornber, International Trade Adviser and Middle East Specialist from UKTI North West, who has worked with Salma since the inception of the business in 2013, commented: “I am delighted with Salma’s success in the UAE.
“I am pleased that the UKTI teams in both the North West and in the UAE were able to assist The Halal Cosmetics Company in this process, but ultimately it was Salma’s patience, tenacity and unwavering belief in the quality of her products that has led to her success. We look forward to continuing to work with her to develop new export markets in the future.”
