The International Trade Campaign will bring together businesses from across Scotland to recognise and celebrate their entrepreneurial exporting achievements as well as encourage others to increase their export potential.
Exporting and international trade remain central to the Scottish government’s economic growth agenda and this campaign will recognise those entrepreneurial, wealth creating businesses that are selling their products, services and expertise across the globe.
The campaign will include weekly online features, profiling some of the nation’s most emerging and successful exporters, as well as quarterly magazine supplements and the fourth consecutive Scottish Export Awards which is being held in Glasgow in March.
The Scottish Export Awards are organised by BQ with the intention of working closely alongside a range of support partners who share the same passion and vision for encouraging growth in international trade.
Bryan Hoare, managing director of BQ, said: “It’s universally recognised now that export markets are crucial for the growth and development of the Scottish economy, and that Scotland has a booming international trade environment in which businesses are being nurtured.
“We’re delighted to be supported again by Scottish Enterprise, who recognise what a great platform this campaign provides for businesses to showcase their achievements.
“We’ve been overwhelmed in previous years with the volume and quality of businesses involved, and we don’t expect this year to be any different.
“In line with the overall ethos of BQ, both in print and online, this will be yet another campaign that your business simply cannot afford to miss.”
Neil Francis, international operations director at Scottish Enterprise, added: “Scotland now has more than 11,000 companies actively exporting, resulting in our international exports rising by £7.2bn since 2007.
“We’re making strong progress to increase the number of companies exporting and the value of exports to drive our economic growth, and we want to encourage even more companies to make this a key part of their business growth plans.
“This is why I’m delighted that we’re working with BQ on this campaign to showcase and celebrate the excellent exporting work going on already, in the hope that it will inspire other businesses to take a step towards exporting.”
The Scottish Export Awards will be held on 22 March 2017 at the Glasgow Hilton. If you know a business helping fly the flag for Scotland overseas, let us know!
