Vision enjoys reward for overseas trade

Lancashire textiles firm Vision has scooped a top 50 ranking in a league table recognising firms who trade overseas.

The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, now in its 7th year, recognises the international sales achievements of companies who have accomplished some of the fastest-growing international sales, based on the last two years of available accounts.

Vision, whose head office is based at Walker Park in Blackburn, ranked at number 46 this year making it the second time the textiles firm has appeared in the table; they featured at number 26 in 2014.

With offices located around the world in Dubai, UK, Ireland, China, India and Pakistan, the company is a leading supplier and distributor of specialist, performance and luxury textiles to prestigious clients from a number of sectors including hospitality, healthcare and retail.

Currently working alongside leading retailers John Lewis, Aldi and Mamas & Papas in the UK, the company has also historically supplied iconic venues such as the RMS Titanic in 1912 to the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai and has long-standing contracts with the Ministry of Defence and preferred supplier agreements with global hospitality groups such as Hilton and IHG.

Established in 2005, the company combined three heritage-rich textiles brands including Hilden Linens which was based in Oswaldtwistle; Whitaker Services, originally situated in Helmshore; and Liddell, an Irish linen brand dating back to 1866.

Both Hilden and Whitaker Services were acquired by local entrepreneur, Dan Wright, in a bid to preserve the heritage of the county’s textile manufacturing history.

Managing director of Vision, Laurie Thomas, said: "To receive such acclaim in 2016 is particularly worthwhile for Vision as, earlier this year, we united our three product brands into the Vision group in order to streamline our services and capitalise on our strengths.

"This, in turn, means we are able to consolidate our offering to the global market and enhance our presence; providing our customers with a greater choice of product, global services encompassing supply and development and ultimately, a lower cost."

The PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards are about recognising the excellence in those emerging, wealth creating companies that are selling their products, services and expertise in scores of overseas markets.
