Recently launched, Welcome to Leeds is a portal to showcase, support and celebrate the world class events, organisations and people in Leeds. We find out more about how it's working to promote the city...
Welcome to Leeds promotes the city by commissioning talented photographers, film makers and storytellers to capture and share moments, sentiments and idiosyncrasies of the people that make our city unique.
By working together as a powerful collective, the artists involved have not only produced a range of incredible content to engage people, but also represent and reflect the style and quality on offer. Artists involved in the projects include:
BlackBox - a Leeds based creative agency founded by cinematographer Adam Lyons and award winning graphic designer Francesca Hotchin. Their understanding of multiple creative disciplines, specialising in branding, film, motion and design allows them to develop creative ideas that work across all media by identifying the most effective way to communicate a unique and appropriate message.
Opal - Founded by Zoe East in 2015, Opal is a video production company that produces short documentary style videos that uncover and celebrate unseen elements of independent businesses.
Tom Joy is a freelance photographer. Originally from Aberdeen, since moving to Leeds Tom's camera has always been with him to capture his explorations of the city and a growing portfolio of varied projects.
We are focused on raising the profile of Leeds across the UK and internationally by telling a broader story of all that makes the city unique. The creativity, energy & story of Leeds is
both fascinating and in depth, in addition to being hugely influential on music, fashion, technology, culture and business in the UK.
Welcome to Leeds is an innovative shop window for telling this story, using a high quality, exciting and story led approach.
LeedsBID is an independent, not for profit company, funded by business and focused on
