The company say that it is often sent pictures of its products in locations it does not export to, and is planning to make the most of its global success.
Export sales director, Piero Alberici, said: "We have so many people sending us pictures of themselves in far flung places with Fentimans products, so we know that they are available in places that we don’t directly export to.
"At the moment, export sales make up about a third of our revenue and we are currently putting together a 5-year plan to develop the export side so that it becomes the major part of our business."0
Closer to home, Fentimans has recently invested over £500,000 in a new head office and production facilities in Hexham and is now actively looking to employ graduates from local universities, keeping their skills in the region.
Piero took the opportunity to visit the DIT’s Exporting is GREAT hub when it visited Tyneside last month. David Coppock, Regional Director for Department for International Trade commented: "Fentimans are already an export success story and by working with us, they are putting themselves in the best possible position to maximise the number and quality of export opportunities they can take advantage of."
