Mackie’s lands Russian export deal

Mackie’s at Taypack has landed a lucrative export deal which will see its crisps sold in the premium Russian supermarket chain Azbuka Vkusa.

Supermarket chain Azbuka Vkusa was founded in 1997 and has over 100 supermarkets spread across Moscow & St. Petersburg.

The deal will see the retailer stock a selection of flavours from the Mackie’s 150g Core & Ridge ranges in its stores.

This is a welcome development in Mackie’s export sales, which currently sees the company export to 17 countries spanning across Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia.

James Taylor, commercial director for Mackie’s at Taypack, said: "Growing our export market remains a big priority for the company as we are constantly seeking out opportunities in new markets as well as strengthening our brand and increasing sales in our existing markets."

The Perthshire-based crisp company is now looking forward to seeing how its crisp flavours are received in Russia, as well as discovering where in the world their crisps will travel to next.
