Linda Macdonald Jewellery, which designs and manufactures handmade products in silver and gold from its workshop in Cardross, Argyll, sells its jewellery to over 100 stockists across the UK.
As it celebrates its 20th year in business this year, the company decided to invest in its digital presence and is now reaping the rewards, attracting customers from France, Germany and the USA.
Founder Linda Scott said: "We are very proud to be celebrating our 20th anniversary especially since so many small businesses were unable to survive the difficult economic times over the last two decades.
"We work very hard but every one of us enjoys what we do which means although there have been challenges over the years, we’ve had fun along the way.
"For a long time we concentrated on trade customers throughout the UK, including John Lewis and other galleries and shops but around two years ago we felt the time had come to try and increase our retail sales so that both areas of the business were growing.
"Attending international trade fairs has been a huge success for our business and we have gained customers from around Europe this way.
"We incorporated digital into our business strategy and after receiving a Business Gateway Plus grant we were able to do a complete rebrand of our website which led to an increase in online sales.
"Our international customers are just a small part of the business at the moment, but technology now means our products can be purchased as easily in New York as right here in Scotland."
With six employees, Linda Macdonald Jewellery will now proactively target new stockists to its portfolio over the next five years as well as promoting the brand to consumers.
Linda added: "Working and living in such a beautiful part of Scotland inspires our jewellery. The countryside, fairy tales and romance of Scottish culture and history is behind all our designs and our special 20th anniversary collection will again reflect our stunning surroundings.
"Going forward our plan is to continue growing and hopefully as sales increase we can put more and more of our ideas into place that will ultimately put us in an even stronger position for another successful 20 years."
