West Midlands companies offered export advice

West Midlands companies seeking to broaden their export markets are being urged to attend an event where representatives from 18 countries will be on hand to offer advice and support.

The Future Markets event, organised by the Department for International Trade (DIT) West Midlands with Barclays Bank and Innovation Birmingham, takes place on Tuesday, November 8, and offers businesses the chance to book 20-minute, one-to-one meetings to discuss available opportunities, market entry, cultural differences and much more.

Experts from China, India, USA, Vietnam, and South Korea will be among the 18 countries represented at the free day-long event at iCentrum, Innovation Birmingham Campus.

Christine Hamilton, interim regional director of the Department for International Trade Midlands, said: "Businesses are looking with renewed interest at non-EU export markets and this event is the ideal time to find out what live opportunities there are in some of the world’s most dynamic and exciting markets.

"The 20-minute one-to-one meetings are often the catalyst for the forging of new business relationships and can provide the impetus companies need to explore new markets more seriously. With our support and advice, companies can make a real impact and succeed in these new markets."
