As well as an extra service for holiday makers, the route could also provide a boost to businesses in the North West which have interests in Italy.
Italy is the UK’s tenth largest trading partner with bilateral trade in goods valued at £25.7bn in 2014 alone.
Ryanair celebrated its new Manchester to Naples route by releasing seats for sale at prices starting from just £19.99 for travel until 31 May 2017.
Stephen Turner, commercial director for Manchester Airport, said: “It’s great to see Ryanair offering our passengers even more choice for summer 2017.
“Naples is a fantastic city and the gateway to the Amalfi Coast and we’re sure the service will prove hugely popular with the 22 million people in our catchment area.”
Ryanair’s Robin Kiely added: “Ryanair is pleased to announce a new three times weekly Manchester summer 2017 service to Naples beginning in April, which is now on sale.”
