The deal marks a significant breakthrough for the brand which was established in 2013 and has built a strong reputation in the health and wellness market.
Wheyhey will initially be available via Tesco.com for customers living in London before being stocked in selected Tesco stores across the UK.
Co-founder Damien Kennedy said: “We're really excited to take the Wheyhey brand into grocery retail in the UK with Tesco.
“Tesco are forward thinking partners who are at the forefront of offering UK consumers great tasting, truly healthy and nutritious food, the demand for which is experiencing explosive growth.”
Fellow co-founder Greg Duggan added: “Our high protein, sugar free ice cream offers something completely different to the current offering in supermarket freezers.
“Our goal is to change what it means for consumers to eat truly great tasting healthy food and this listing is the beginning.
Established in 2013, Wheyhey is still led by Duggan and Kennedy, and is also supported by celebrity brand ambassadors who include supermodel David Gandy; fashion designer Chloe Green and musician James McVey.
The ice cream provides a healthy alternative to traditional products on the shelves and is available in a range of flavours including chocolate, banoffee, strawberry and vanilla.
