A bitesize alternative to reading

A bitesize alternative to reading

A Brighton entrepreneur is helping make reading easier for time-poor professionals with the launch of a new service offering bitesize ebooks.

Remember all those business advice and self-help books you wish you’d read but never found the time? Dr Darren Boyd-Annells believes he has come up with a solution.

Darren launched Joosr just over two years ago in a bid to make reading easier for time-poor professionals who just can’t find the time to sit down with a good book.

The subscription-based app offers summaries of popular non-fiction, business and self-help titles, written by a team of highly-trained writers and specially designed for mobile devices.

Each book provides all the key information of the original title but without all the pages. The Joosr library includes more than 150 titles, with 240 new books added every year.

Work Rules Iphone And Ipad

Dr Boyd-Annells said: “Finding time to keep up with reading and learning is a real challenge in the modern world.

“We found that six out of 10 people said they were simply too busy to read as much as they would like. So the beauty of Joosr is you can access all the key information from a book in just 20 minutes.

“The summaries can be read offline and across iPhones and iPads, which means that even before breakfast you could read a book on how to be more assertive - and then put what you learned into action in a meeting that same day. Or even learn how to have a calmer, happier household on the commute home.

“We call it bitesize mobile learning and it’s taking off very quickly. The response has been amazing.”

After just over two years in business, the service already has over 20,000 customers in 55 countries and is continuing to grow.
