Mumpreneur club goes country-wide

A networking club for ‘Mumpreneurs’ which started off in Brighton is set to expand throughout the UK after growing exponentially across the South of England.

Entrepreneurs Nicky Chisholm and Sara Guiel founded The Mumpreneurs Networking Club back in 2009 in a bid to support female entrepreneurs and mums in business.

The duo started off by setting up a series of business networking groups and events in and around Sussex in a bid to support and celebrate Mumpreneurs.

Last year however, the company was accepted to join Entrepreneurial Spark’s Brighton hatchery and the duo started to scale-up the business.

Working alongside their business advisor they came up with the idea of launching their own ‘Mumpreneur Tour’ in a bid to reach out to more potential members.

Supported by NatWest and StartUp Britain, the tour bus drove to Guildford, Kingston, Brighton and Portsmouth, offering advice and support throughout the summer.

As a result of the response to the bus tour, which saw 400 extra Mumpreneurs attend and sign up to the network, they have now made the decision to take this idea to the next level and are looking for managers to set up and run local groups country-wide.

With 17 active groups, and over 20,000 people attending their events since the business started, the future certainly looks bright for the network.
