The company officially cut the ribbon of its new headquarters on Friday 9 September, creating 200 local jobs and a further 100 across the country.
The move to Hutwood Court was brokered by Southampton-based Lambert Smith Hampton.
Bill Bullen, CEO Utilita Energy, said: “This is a landmark day for the company – we are growing very quickly and I am mindful we are very much a Hampshire success story. We’ve reached 400,000 customers and expect to hit half a million early in 2017.
“As sad as we are to leave Winchester, we are delighted that we have moved to Chandler’s Ford to a facility that will help us continue to grow.”
Dr Alan Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test, attended the opening ceremony. He added: “It’s fantastic to see a company bringing hundreds of jobs to the area.
“Utilita Energy is leading the way on pay as you go smart metering. Pay as you go customers will perhaps benefit the most from having a system where they can keep track of how much energy they are using, hopefully leading to cheaper bills and better energy efficiency in the home.”
