Launched by Pritesh Mody in September 2014, World of Zing has become recognised amongst the UK's most innovative food and drink producers.
Born into one of the UK’s most respected spice merchant families, and following a 10-year career in food & drink marketing, Pritesh has gained a huge amount knowledge and insight into developing a successful FMCG business.
It wasn’t until 2014 however when Pritesh decided to combine all of his experience to launch World of Zing, after noticing a gap in the market for exciting food and drink products produced from exotic spices.
Two years on and the company which started out as just an idea has now expanded to create its own range of spiced cocktails, foods and sauces and has ambitious plans for growth as it looks to continue growing.
With over 50 of its products being sold through stores such as Whole Foods, as well as at many of London's leading artisan delis, Pritesh is now looking to invest in new premises and equipment to fulfil the increasing demand as well as maximising retail listings with a dedicated sales and marketing team.
In a bid to make this happen, he has launched a crowdfunding campaign via online crowdfunding platform Crowdcube in a bid to raise 150,000 in return for 15% equity in the business. At the time of writing (29 September), World of Zing has already raised £32,550 from the campaign and has 20 days remaining.
Pritesh said: “Having seen my family grow a business from an East London cornershop into one of the most respected spice merchants in the country, my motivation to succeed with World of Zing comes from growing up around their incredible story.
“After spending over 10 years providing marketing and trends advice to FMCG brands, World of Zing provides the platform to capitalise on the immense experience, insight and contacts I have accrued in the industry.
“It has been an incredibly rapid journey since launch and the amount of interest in World of Zing has been truly humbling, whether it’s from the media, our burgeoning list of customers or the fact that we have the support of a team of hugely experienced non-executive directors.
“Securing this investment will ensure that we have the resources in place to convert our strong brand recognition into the sales revenue and hopefully make a positive impact in the food industry.”
Working directly with Diageo and Pernod Ricard brands, World of Zing has also developed its own range of spiced cocktails, which have proved a huge success so far.
