The start-up which is revolutionising the laundry and dry-cleaning industry has raised £6m in funding as it looks to expand overseas.
Laundrapp is one of the fastest growing British tech businesses and is revolutionising the laundry and dry-cleaning industry worldwide.
The app gives people the power to do their washing-on-the-go, by outsourcing their laundry or dry cleaning through their smartphone.
The company announced its plans to expand globally back in February by licencing its technology to overseas markets.
It has since launched in Australia and New Zealand with launches in Brazil and UAE imminent and is on track to launch across 15 international markets over the next 24 months after securing a further £6m in funding.
To date, Laundrapp has raised £15m and this latest funding round marks a new chapter for the firm which operates in over 100 towns and cities across the UK.
The company now also employs over 90 members of staff across its head office, regional laundry hubs and delivery drivers.
Co-founder and CEO, Edward Relf, said: “We’re committed to making Laundrapp a global success and this investment will allow the company to accelerate further our global rollout as well as continue to scale the UK business.
“Here in the UK we’ve proven the power of our technology and this investment will help catapult this business into what is fast becoming a global British success story!”
Dominic Perks, chairman at Laundrapp, added: “For the past two years we’ve been flying high, launching in major UK towns and cities and now countries around the world; making Laundrapp one of the fastest growing start-ups in the UK.
“Yet we’re only just scratching the surface. With this round of funding, we will move the business into its next phase, driving Laundrapp’s on-demand technology to new heights.”
