Hill and Friends
The luxury British handbag maker, which was launched just two years ago, is set to open its first store on London's South Molton Street on Friday (22 Sep).
Emma Hill CBE and Georgia Fendley launched Hill and Friends back in 2015 and have already secured deals to supply stores across the globe.
The pair are now hoping to build on this impressive growth with their new flagship store in the capital, which will also house a new showroom and office.
The earlier than planned launch of their first store reflects the brands impressive sales growth which will see their AW17 collection launched with 35 wholesale partners in eight countries.
Hill and Fendley have secured £1.5m in investment from IW Capital to help open the store. This will also help the brand relaunch its website and open a showroom in Milan.
Fendley said: “Hill and Friends is a labour of love, we are still very much a start-up, we are a small independent business with a clear vision and strongly held beliefs, it’s exciting and rewarding to see positive results so early in our development but we are not complacent.
“The retail landscape is challenging for traditional fashion and luxury brands, we see this as our opportunity, when you’re a small business it’s possible to think differently and act with the customer at the heart of the business, this is what we love to do and we are delighted to have the support of IW to bring our vision to life.”
Hill added: “I have always loved South Molton Street, growing up it was a fashion mecca, home to the bravest, coolest independent fashion brands. I love that the street is pedestrianised, in the heart of the West End and has a neighborhood feel.
“It’s anchored at one end by one of my all-time favourite stores, Browns. As soon as I saw the space it felt like home, the perfect place to share our gorgeous bags and crazy ideas with the amazing women who shop with us.”
Luke Davis of IW Capital said: “Hill and Friends stand as testament to the brilliant entrepreneurial talent that cements the UK’s benchmark status for luxury retail, championing a tremendously exciting period for the future of luxury brands.
“I’m really excited to support Emma and Georgia on this brilliant journey, with the recent development of the retail store a definitive milestone of their impressive growth and some really exciting times ahead.”
The store will be revealed to the Fashion worlds VIPs during London Fashion Week and will open to the public on Friday 22 September.
